Sometime ago I shared with you who are the Biggest, brightest and most influential people on the Internet. Just to recap, the top spot went to Jessica Lee Rose of Lonelygirl15 who looks so pretty and sexy.
Now, there is another list compiled by the people at PC World. They name this list The 50 most Important people on the Web. Take a glance at the list and I am sure if you used the Internet long enough most or all of the names who make it there are familiar to you.
Let’s check them out quickly and see if we can spot any pretties who have brains! 🙂
Listed at number 1 is Google’s Eric Schmidt, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin. This is not very surprising as Google is one of the most trafficked search engine on the Internet. I don’t have the statistics, but I guess 98 out of 100 searches done on the Internet are through Google!
That’s how important they are, if Google went down one day, I guess all of us will suffer! Can you imagine a day without adsense?
At number 2 is Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.
I know Jobs introduced the mega hit iPod, iPod nano, iPod and iPod whatever which is so popular that every kids on the road nowadays may have one of them. Jobs also popularized legal music downloads and legal TV and movie downloads, but that still do not stop me from feeling surprised to see him at the number 2 spot.
By the way, I don’t own an iPod.
The one guy lucky enough to be picked at number 3 is Bram Cohen.
I believe not many of you have even heard of him before, but that doesn’t really matter as long as you you have heard of BitTorrent! I am sure you love BitTorrent to the bits because you can use this technology to download loads and loads of goodies from the Internet, from free software to free porn videos made by sick people at the other side of the world. All these are made possible by Bram Cohen, so thank him please!
At number 4 is Mike Morhaime, the president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.
Now, this guy may sound a little alien to you if you haven’t played a game for the last few years. Blizzard Entertainment develops World of Warcraft (WoW), an online game that’s so popular it has an estimated 8 million players worldwide. Blizzard earns about US$1.5 billion a year on WoW.
Note: I don’t play Wow! 🙂
The last person to squeeze into the top 5 is none other than Jimmy Wales.
He may not know you and you may not know him personally, but you have certainly used his creation: Wikipedia.
Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia which is free to use. Many people use it as their first and last stop in researching a topic; and its user generated content has become so reliable many declared it close to Encyclopaedia Britannica in accuracy.
We are finally done with the Top 5. Did we see any pretty chicks among them? Nope. None. Haha… In fact I went through the whole list of 50 most important people on the Web, only to find there are 3 females only. Namely they are:
- Marissa Mayer – Vice president for search products & user experience, Google
- Meg Whitman – CEO, eBay
- Tila Tequila – MySpace Personality
People say save the best for last… that’s quite true. Tila Tequila, ranked at position 50 at the end of the list, is very hot and pretty! To reward you for reading such a boring post, below are some photos of this Internet babe!

Anyway, are you one of them on the list? Not likely, but PC Word’s advise to you is not to despair: “Get a little more traffic on your Web site, and you may show up on the list next year.” Haha. 🙂
