Why LiewCF is a successful problogger in Malaysia?

If I’m not mistaken, LiewCF began his entrepreneurial Malaysia problogger journey back in 2005. He celebrated his first anniversary as a Malaysia problogger back in September 2006. But, before becoming a problogger in Malaysia many actually doubted someone of his achievements would make it.

I didn’t personally meet LiewCF but have been reading his blog last time. I’m not one to say my English is good but me and LiewCF were about the same. His English not so good but now has improved. I’m also improving, right? Anyway, while everyone thought this I gave him the benefit of the doubt and true enough, he’s now a successful problogger in Malaysia.

Ever since then, he’s become my inspiration then on with the aim to become a problogger in Malaysia too. He made me believe all talk is nothing without starting. And I too celebrated my anniversary not too long ago. But I’m not a Malaysia problogger just yet… 🙂

Anyway, nothing is rewarded without working smart. Including what have been said before by some other Malaysia probloggers. I personally think LiewCF is a successful problogger in Malaysia because he:

Find DoFollow blogs to comment and improve PageRank

There are a few things you just have to do if you want to promote your blog and have regular readers. First and most importantly is of course you need to write good content which other people will find interest in reading. With that done, you will of course publish your link in social bookmarking sites, and in Malaysia Petaling Street is one which you should not miss. But you will probably still go unnoticed by other bloggers if you are not commenting on their blogs.

Free blog software

Blogging is like making friends on the Internet. You go to other people’s blogs, read posts, leave meaningful comments, and learn from them at the same time. If you find yourself coming back to the same blogs more than once, you can subscribe to their RSS feeds, make friends, collaborate and network with them.

Now that you recognize the importance of leaving meaningful comments on other people blogs, you will need to find blogs which allow dofollow links in comments. I am not going to elaborate why it’s the best to comment on blogs which allow dofollow links, but it’s sufficient to say that with dofollow links to your blog, it will help you improve your PageRank tremendously! My PageRank isn’t particularly good at this point because I have just discovered this tool a few days ago and I just can’t wait to share this with you all!

I love Blue screen of death

A Blue Screen of Death (also known as a blue-screen) is an error screen displayed by operating systems, most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage. The system must be rebooted to get out of it.

The blue screen may include some hexadecimal values from a core dump that can potentially be used to determine what caused the crash. The blue screen of death can strike anyone, anywhere and anytime. Even Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates encountered the blue screen of death during a demonstration of Windows 98 in Comdex ’98.

Now, let’s see a few other weird Blue screen of deaths.

How to turn WordPress into a CMS website

These days there are so many web design companies in Malaysia, and thus the competition between them have really make life difficult for web designers. Even students and freelance web designers and programmers are in the game to make quick money. The price of designing and building a website become more and more competitive. Clients, those who look for someone to design and build a website have too many choices and are more demanding with a very limited budget… they want to be able to update the website content themselves easily without having to engage you to do it because they do not want to pay you!

This has prompted me to look at using WordPress to do the job. WordPress by itself is a blogging platform but luckily it’s a highly supported and open source software. There are thousands of freely available plugins to extend the capabilities of WordPress to turn it into a website with CMS (Content Management System) support!

Malaysia Tech Blog

1. Re-brand the Admin login screen

The first thing we need to do is to customize the WordPress login screen. Here you can put your own logos to enhance your branding. Or more likely is of course to put your client’s logos and company name here. This will make your client very happy and award you more projects in the future. 🙂

2. Customize Admin menu
Look at the WordPress administration area. Those menu names are all blogging jargons which are definitely confusing for a layman to use. Use the Custom Admin Menu for WordPress plugin to change the menus and sub-menus labels in the WordPress to make them more user friendly. You can even create new menus and reorder them!

Blogging tips from Malaysia’s first blog entrepreneur

Louiss Lim initiated an email conversation with me yesterday. If you have never heard of Louiss Lim before, then you may not have been online (active on the Internet) for long enough, he is the founder of Louisslim.com obviously and self proclaimed First Blog Entrepreneur In Malaysia.

The conversation continues today and it revolves around some casual talks. Anyway, Louiss Lim somehow is quite mysterious to me and at the same time I kind of admire him also because I heard rumors that he earns a very decent revenue from his Internet businesses. Yeah, businesses because rumors also say that he has many blogs, and has a team of people to manage them for him!

Wow, like that I must learn from him… so, I shot this question to him “Any blogging and Internet business tips you wanna share with me?”. Almost instantly, I got a reply from him…
