My gravatar picture is X rated?

I have just joined Gravatar.com so that my face will appear at blogs which supports gravatar whenever I make a comment. Isn’t this good?

However, I can’t help it but find it interesting when I upload my photo to Gravatar.com… it asks whether my photo is X-rated!

Gravatar

The site says “X rated gravatars may contain hardcore sexual imagery or extremely disturbing violence.” 🙂

If you haven’t heard of gravatar, it is actually a globally recognized avatar (an 80×80 pixel avatar image) that follows you from a blog to another blog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums.

So next time when you see my X rated picture in your comment, don’t delete it OK? Must approve. 🙂

Sounds interesting? Then jump on the bandwagon… I have joined, why not you?

I nearly lost USD100 on a fake Paypal website

Believe it or not, I nearly got tricked to login and send USD100 through Paypal. Luckily Firefox is pretty smart in detecting that the Paypal website is a phishing site and prompted an obstructive alert! See a screen capture below.

Fake Paypal

Click here for a bigger version.

The website looks exactly Paypal, new logo and everything is the same. If you didn’t pay attention to the URL, you won’t suspect anything at all. Firefox’s security feature saves my USD100!

Let’s try this URL in Internet Explorer and see what happens…

Is Google updating the pagerank again?

Since this morning I have noticed a strange behavior on websites that queries Google’s multiple data centers to check for PageRank values for a given URL. First, I tried DigPageRank.com and it returned a combinations of OFF and PR N/A for my blog.

DigPageRank

OMG, I couldn’t believe it. Is Google updating the PageRank again? This has to be the third time within a couple of months time… Perhaps the more likely case is something is wrong with DigPageRank. I need to verify this on a couple other pagerank checking websites.

Put Windows Live Messenger on your website or blog

I have decided to remove the Live Shoutbox which I told you in this post. Simple reason, I need to come to my blog in order to see your messages, and it’s not spam protected and thus there are many spam messages coming in already although I have only put it up for a couple of days.

Now, a better alternative is to put Windows Live Messager on my blog. Yes, you can chat with me on Windows Live Messenger (previously known as MSN Messenger) directly! Don’t wait, type your message in the box on the left column of this page… get in touch with me. 🙂

If you want to put this on your website or blog. It’s fairly easy. Login with your Windows Live ID at Windows Live. Windows Live ID can be your MSN Hotmail, MSN Messenger, or Passport account.

Windows Live

Check/enable the option “Allow anyone on the Internet to see my online status and send me messages”.

Kongtechnology.com is now on MyBlogLog

I have heard and seen so much about MyBlogLog. I guess it’s time for me to jump on the bandwagon too.

MyBlogLog

I am still pretty new to this blog community, but just try to make more blog friends from the communities and hopefully more traffic to my blog. Traffic come my way. OK, I know, good content is a must!

Can MyBlogLog help me to show up on Google first page when people search for “Malaysia technology blog“? Wahahahaha 🙂

Free WIFI and Internet Workshop at Maju Jaya food court

I was in for a surprise when I dropped by Maju Jaya food court for lunch today. This food court located at Puchong Utama is now providing WIFI access! For free, I must add!

Free WIFI

Banners proudly announce this new service loud and clear. There is even a hugh leaderboard banner hanging at a prominent spot announcing that they will have an Internet Workshop on 25 November 2007.

Internet workshop

Not sure what will the workshop cover, but I believe it will be on the basics of Internet surfing, sending and receiving emails and stuff like that. They will not touch complicated stuff such as make money online through blogs! 🙂

HP Officejet Pro K5400 is so noisy and bulky

My colleague is an expert in shopping for discounted gadgets. Not too long ago he got himself a Dell Vostro 1400 with some freebies thrown in after some sweet talk with the salesperson. This time he managed to get a brand new HP Officejet Pro K5400 at a good bargain.

HP Officejet printer

No, he didn’t get it from Digital Mall, but he went to his usual hideout at Low Yat Plaza. At Mid Valley this officejet is retailed at RM699, but at his hideout at Low Yat, his special price was at RM625 only. What a good deal I must say!

Digital Mall, Petaling Jaya

If I told you I have never went to Digital Mall before, you might not believe me. But, that’s totally true, and today’s visit was my first time there since its opening earlier this year.

Digital Mall

Located in Section 14, Petaling Jaya (diagonally opposite of Jaya Shopping Centre), Digital Mall offers folks from PJ and the surrounding areas, myself included, a convenient place for their IT and gadget needs. Now, we do not have to go all the way to Low Yat Plaza in Kuala Lumpur… hate the traffic jam, and pricey parking coupons!

Digital Mall, PJ

Digital Mall offers the latest in computer hardware and software technologies, mobile phones, gadgets and other digital products with its “everything digital under one roof” concept.
