Watch out, Apple’s ‘iSlate’ tablet to be revealed 27th Jan 2010

All the months of rumor mongering seems to have paid off. The magical Tablet computer by Apple has been confirmed by Steve Jobs himself and that there will be a ‘special event’ on the 27th of Jan, 2010, where Apple will be announcing some ‘new products’.

The iSlate is definitely one of them, but I’m more curious as to whether they will be announcing a new iPod Touch with camera. That’ll surely piss off consumers who bought the 3rd Gen iPod Touch barely 4 months ago, but such is the brutal world of technological advancement and Apple product lifecycle.

Will Google Nexus One replace Apple iPhone as the next Jesus Phone?

Ever since the iPhone – “Jesus Phone” – was born, people have been comparing it with all other flagship phones out there. Only several months back, the only worthy competitors might be the Nokia N900 and HTC HD2.

It took about 2 years since the first iPhone was released in 2007. Now, comes the iPhone 3GS killer – Google Nexus One is born and it may take away Apple’s crown.

In our earlier article, we showed you the visuals. Now we’ll look at the stuff it’s made of.

Nexus One – The Next Jesus Phone

Basically Nexus One is equipped with more advanced features and complete hardware compared with iPhone 3GS. Let’s see why the current Jesus Phone is no longer the Jesus Phone and why Nexus One is a better phone… Continue reading “Will Google Nexus One replace Apple iPhone as the next Jesus Phone?”

Google Nexus One revealed, evolutionary but not revolutionary.

Google promised they would deliver news on their famous Nexus One phone and they have delivered just that when they revealed all the details regarding the GPhone earlier this week.

However the excitement (as witnessed from live Twitter feeds) gradually waned as it represents no significant differences from existing Android phones, but does showcase the pinnacle of Android technology. I have no doubt that the technological crown will be snatched away from the Nexus One in the next half year, but all in all it’s still a pretty sweet smartphone.

Why I hate Windows Vista

This is the year where the switch to Windows 7 will gain momentum. Not least because of existing Vista users who are so sick and tired of their bulky and inferior OS. Despised and loathed by many, Vista will be dying an uncelebrated death this year. I’ve decided not to pen my own words for its eulogy… being the nice person that I am, instead I’ve asked one of our readers to write down what’s wrong with Windows Visa. So here it goes…

….millions of people depend on Windows Vista software. While Windows dominate the market, feedback about Vista has been less than impressive. One of the key reasons is the fact that while you may have a PC with the minimum system requirements, excess codes from its graphics and utilities would reduce the performance of your pc. Another irritating fact about vista is the fact that many applications cannot work without a vendor update. Imagine the horror one goes through when basic applications like anti-virus, CD burning tools and even browser tools like Firefox require updates to be able to work. To add to one’s misery, Vista is also a favourite target for malware authors! Continue reading “Why I hate Windows Vista”

New Google Phone, Nexus One

The net has been abuzz lately ever since rumors that Google is actively participating in creating a phone running on their Android platform. Unlike Android-running phones from companies like HTC and Motorola, this phone will be designed directly by Google to be the true ‘Google Experience Phone’. With such a mighty promise, one is certainly intrigued as to how different it will be from other Android devices.

Details have started to emerge regarding this fabled phone. It will be called the Nexus One (not the Google Phone, as many had hoped) and it will be manufactured by HTC, which have been making solid Android devices ever since they released the first phone in the world running on Android (the G1). HTC will be focusing purely on the hardware and manufacturing with Google dictating how the software will work and what kind of hardware is necessary from HTC’s part. The reason for this direct partnership is supposedly so that Google can control every single process of the phone’s design and not have to listen to carrier’s request, which is often vocal on certain issues like teetering, network support, etc.

File Sharing evolves: DHT, PEX and Magnet explained

For many of us who are reliant of Bit Torrent to access content, significant efforts started by copyright holders have slowly chipped away at the technology and rightfully so as many corporate figures view the technology as a threat to their business model and prefer to follow a raze-and-burn tactic rather than see how to change their business model in light of technological advancements.

But Bit Torrent will be undergoing a dramatic shift soon and here are some new technologies that users may find useful to learn up on.
