Setting up a home network

I need a little help from you tech geeks! My friend showed me his network configurations. I don’t have physical access to his computer and modem because he’s staying in Nilai and I am in KL. But his network is something like the following.

Local area network

From my understanding, the 1394 Connection in Windows Network Connections should be a FireWire connection which can be ignored. He is actually connected to a Streamyx modem, using DHCP configurations.

Zune tops CNET users number 1 most wanted product

Gadget lovers, have you checked out this 20 Most Wanted Products list compiled by CNET? Surprisingly, iPhone and iPod didn’t make it to the top, instead the number 1 position was occupied by Microsoft Zune!

Microsoft Zune

So, are you planning on buying the highly rated Zune 80GB? Costs about US$249.00, not sure what’s the price in Malaysia… even if it’s available here. 🙂

I think it’s time to pay PJ’s Digital Mall a visit.

The top 10 products on the most wanted list this week were:
1. Zune (80GB, black)
2. Nintendo Wii
3. Sony PlayStation 3 (60GB)
4. AT&T Tilt
5. Apple iPhone – 8GB (AT&T)
6. Canon PowerShot SD850 IS
7. LG Voyager – VX10000 (Verizon Wireless)
8. SanDisk Sansa TakeTV (8GB)
9. Creative Zen (16GB)
10. Apple iPod Touch (16GB)

I am registering Maybank2u.my and Sex.my

I was so excited to learn that Mynic has opened Malaysia’s 2nd level domain name registrations. This may sound weird but what it basically means is now we can register domain names such as Maybank2u.my and Sex.my! Yeah, these are the two domain names that popped up in my head straight away which I wanted to register immediately. It costs RM120 max per domain name and hehehe… I might be able to sell it at 10 or 100 times afterwards.

Sexy chick

I put the above young, beautiful and sexy chick on my Sex.my, you think can make money or not? 🙂 I am that wicked. Can or not? Hahaha…

RM350 laptops and Malaysian angkasawan program

Sometime ago I told you that you could purchase a brand new laptop for as low as RM350. You don’t believe me because you say even Dell Vostro costs as much as 5 times the price, so there is really no reason a good laptop will cost so blardy cheap.

XO laptop

Anyway, after such a long time finally a small South American country, Uruguay, came forward to support the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) project by ordering 100,000 units of the XO laptops, as they are know as, for schoolchildren aged six to 12. If the laptops were proved to be good, a further 300,000 units may be purchased by 2009.

Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner

What’s Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner? This long name itself is hard to pronounce in one breathe… but that’s exactly what prompted me today when I wanted to transfer a file to my friend in Windows Live Messenger. To be exact, I was transferring an EXE file.

Safety scanner

Windows Live Messenger… (MSN for short) alerted of virus/trojan threat and required me to either scan the file using the antivirus program on my computer, or download and setup a free virus scanner from Microsoft for free. I opted for the latter because I wanted to see what’s in store for this “free virus scanner from Microsoft”. 🙂

Biggest PR drop, from PR8 to PR3

Maybe I should be contented with my blog’s PageRank of 3.

YouTube

Why should not when I am on the same level with the world’s most widely used video sharing website YouTube, as far as PR is concerned! This should be the biggest PR drop, from a strong PR8 to a mere PR3! What a surprise… you can verify this with a Dig PageRank check. You may see lots of PR3, and a few PR8… depending on which datacenters the system is querying the PR from.

This is really surprising… there is no way YouTube.com deserves PR3 only. Perhaps there is a mistake? Or does YouTube sell links? 🙂

How to get a giant Firefox sticker for free?

I have to admit the title of this post is designed to bait you to read! Hahaha… have I not done a good job? 🙂

Firefox sticker

Anyway, I did in fact have a good proposal with which you might get a giant Firefox Fathead sticker delivered to you absolutely free of charge (FOC)! This Giant Firefox Fathead Sticker originally costs US$69.90 at Mozilla Store. Don’t even think about buying one yourself because the shipping cost could cost you a bomb! Weird enough, they don’t have this item in their Mozilla international store which might be cheaper on the shipping cost.

I can afford a Porsche Carrera?

Let’s take a break from the recent Google PR excitement and relax a little. Let me present you a Porsche Carrera which I might be able to afford. Anyway, I just guess it’s a Carrera, I hope I am not wrong because I haven’t done my research on Porsche cars yet. 🙂

Porsche Carrera

Striking read Porche Carrera! I can’t image how many pairs of eyes will turn green if I drove this along Jalan Bukit Bintang… perhaps park it in front of the new KL Pavillion. I am sure I will get a lot of attention from the babes!
