Fancy a touch screen laptop? A bit of patience and you will be rewarded with not a single-screen, touch screen laptop… instead you can have a dual touch screen laptop!
And yes, you heard that right. Trust the Italians with design, as Italian firm V12 Design has emerged with the Canova, a dual touch screen notebook with an outstanding design sure to whet your appetite!
V12 Design’s founder and managing director Valerio Cometti disclosed that the breathtaking laptop would be able to support multi-touch inputs, as well as comes with built-in voice command. The laptop is expected to be unveiled sometime in 2010, although the exact date has not been confirmed by the manufacturers.
If these visuals are anthing to go by, then Canova might well give Steve Jobs a run for his money.
Or perhaps Apple Inc is the secret company V12 Design is working with to come out with this nifty device?
When OLPC emerged with the X0-2 last year, the world sat up and took notice. Now V12 Design has gone one step further, and if the production team is able to deliver according to schedule, expect to discover the Canova as one of the most amazing products in the computing scene of 2010. Touch keyboards would eliminate the need of a conventional keyboard, how mouth-watering is that? For now, we will just have to wait and see.

Yes, only the Italians can come up with something so elegant and functional. It is beautiful.

That sounds like an amazing laptop, but I’m sure the price will match. It will be interesting to see how long it takes other laptop manufacturers to jump on this trend.

Amazing laptop, but as someone note, what will be the price tag? However, I do believe the price, whatever will be, will go down really quickly as soon as this technology of the dual screen is perfected…

Yes the price should come down in time, but I would personally avoid the first laptops that have this technology. The price will simply be too high and I don’t know how reliable it would be.

it looks amazing but battery life is very important.
I think dual screen laptops needs bigger batteries.

There is the argument to wait till prices come down. For those with alternative lap tops already in use, it may just be the right strategy to wait a while.

Although it looks awesome, I don’t get the purpose. Why dual screens? I like the concept of touch screen, but I’m interested in reading why people would find the dual scrreens useful.

I think the only way I’d use this is to read ebooks, but I think the touchscreen typing would get old very fast. Hopefully the islate can perfect the keyboard otherwise I can see it aggravating people

That is one sweet laptop. I can actually see the use for something like this, especially with the ability to read from it like a book. The only real downside I could see is that it may be more fragile than a traditional laptop.

I can’t see why you would need a dual screen laptop. I’d prefer a proper keyboard.

Wow that is really cool, I wonder how good the dual touch screen would be. It will probably be harder to type on the touch screen rather than a regular keyword

I could only imagine the great things I could do with one of those. Photoshop would be so much easier. And you can use it as a duel screen. I love technology.
