I know this may not be the latest gadget in town. But I am sure most of you are like myself… have never seen a desktop computer doubles as a flat-screen TV before! I know you can always install a TV tuner card in your desktop computer and turn it into a TV immediately, but yours will not be as sophisticated as the one from Sony.
Look at this beast which I found in Sony Centre in The Gardens (beside Mid Valley, KL). Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB hard disk, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT GPU, 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN and to make it great for TV and DVD viewing, the screen was nothing less than 19″ WXGA!
You cannot see this from the pictures, but let me tell you. There’s no separate box for the system unit because the CPU, the drives and everything which you usually find in a system unit… was located right behind the screen. The screen was a few inches thicker than a normal LCD screen to make room for the CPU and the other components. However, despite that, the LCD unit was still very compact and sleek!
The most important thing was of course the price. RM7988 only! Not too expensive, but perhaps a few months of my blog earning!
The VAIO keyboard that came with the computer and TV was compact and nice. I tried the keys, they were quite responsive. Lying beside the keyboard was the remote control device for the TV. I didn’t try the TV though… which I regretted and I guess I will give it a try next time I come across a Sony Centre.

I like the Sony desktop cum TV very much… I think I am going to dream about it tonight.
