USB devices are really common these days, especially pendrives because they are much easier to use than the bulky DVDs, CDs or even the now obsolete Floppy Disks. Furthermore, pendrives are very cheap nowadays and the price is still dropping! One 8GB pendrive now should cost less than MYR10. But, the problem is that while it is really easy to plug in a USB device, removing it might be a pain especially if you have 3 or more devices plugged in at the same time.
When you have more USB devices running, using the Safely Remove Hardware applet that comes with Windows will become very slow and troublesome. Not to mention finding and locating that small icon in the system tray…
Now, all that is going to change with USB Disk Ejector, a nifty little freeware that lets you quickly remove USB devices which include thumdrives, flash drives, scanners, external hard drives, printers, and etc, by either the drive letter or name, or from the name of the program the USB device is using.
The USB Disk Ejector’s GUI is very functional and user friendly.

You simply have to launch it and then double-click on the USB device you would like to eject. Fast and easy!
I have a small Workgroup network in my office, and the benefit of having a network like this is that you can transfer and share files between the computers easily without the need to use medias such as a pendrive. These computers are hooked up through a simple modem router which costs less than RM250 I think.
While I was setting the sharing folder up, I took screenshots because I guess it will make a good entry on this blog.

The whole process is pretty straight forward. Firstly, create a folder on one of the computer which acts like a file server. Then, right click on the newly created folder, select Properties, and check the option “Share this folder on the network”. So far so good, the folder is now shared on the network and should be accessible from other computers.
What an interesting title to catch your attention! It caught mine at least… but it turned out to be a spectacular 4.6m holographic projection of Bill Gates, chairman of software powerhouse Microsoft Corporation. Instead of using the word “impresses” the crowd, the engadget article opted to use a stronger word “terrorizes” the crowd… That surely worked to get a lot of attention.

Anyway, I didn’t get a chance to attend the conference at the World Congress on Information Technology which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. What a waste to miss shaking hands with the giant Bill Gates. He looks like he has put on some weight, doesn’t he?
Up until now, car owners wanting to listen to music in their cars have had to rely on the car stereos, or the most use FM modulators. That’s really troublesome and inconvenience but thankfully that has come to an end. Griffin Technology recently announced a new version of the iTrip that is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and most other Apple iPods. The iTrip AutoPilot is the first FM transmitter that lets you listen to audio on your iPhone, iPod Touch and most other iPods through your car’s stereo system while on the move.

I am sure many of you would be delighted to know that there is a search engine that specializes on free stock photos and images. Yes, Everystockphoto.com is a photo search engine which has indexed millions of freely licensed photos from many photography sources on the Internet. This basically means you can search photos gathered from many photography websites conveniently at one integrated search!
Best is, the website is completely free to use… and it’s very intuitive too! Let’s try to search for “sexy eyes” and see if it returns some eyes that can shock us!

The result it returned was pretty impressive. Lots of pretty eyes… 169 pairs of pretty eyes to be exact. All of them are sourced from Flickr, and the result screen provides some quick but helpful information about those photos, i.e. the license type, the photo’s resolution, and user’s rating for the photo.
