After being delayed for close to a month, WordPress 2.2 was finally released on 15 May 2007. This latest version of the popular blogging software includes a number of new features, most notably Widgets integration, and of course hundreds of bug fixes.

Some new features at a glance:
Last time, I showed you how you can easily download YouTube videos and save them on your computer. Fill up both your 150GB hard disks with your favorite videos. But, how do you play them?… some readers emailed to ask me.

If you didn’t notice, the videos you download from YouTube are in .FLV file extension. FLV (Flash Video) is a proprietary file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player (formerly known as Macromedia Flash Player). To play these videos, all we need is a FLV player, and you are in luck today because we have a Free FLV Player!
After a dotcom merger was completed, a company had too many extra computers lying around. A couple of guys lined them up around the office and knocked them over… they have a computer domino!

Excuse me if I salivate buckets wishing I could put my hand on this awesome yellow box. In order to promote the upcoming Simpsons movie, Microsoft has created 100 limited edition Simpsons Xbox 360s. Yes, you read me right, there are only 100 of these yellow game consoles in the world. So, how do you get your hands on one?

Are you getting tired of downloading new instant messenger releases every now and then and facing problems installing them on your computer? Well worry no more as Yahoo has just launched a new Web based messenger which you can access from anywhere with just a browser. No need to download hugh installation files, no need to go through the trouble installing it… it’s so much more convenient!

This web based version of Yahoo Messenger was built using Adobe’s Flex 2 on top of Flash Player 9.
What’s best is that it also supports adding MSN Live Messenger contacts just like a normal Yahoo Messenger does. So, you can now chat with your MSN Messenger friends without leaving your favorite Yahoo Messenger! I guess we don’t need Pidgin anymore? … maybe not yet if you have lots of contacts from different systems, because Pidgin supports them all which include AIM, ICQ, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ… the list is too long and frankly most of them I have not even heard of.
