Wow, is this the future version of Windows… so called Windows 7? To me, it looks really revolutionary much like how Apple iPhone revolutionized how a mobile phone should look and work. Now, many mobile phone makers are producing iPhone competitors, especially HTC and LG models.
Earlier last week, at the D6 conference Ballmer demonstrated the multitouch interface of Windows 7 which will ship to customers in late 2009.
The demo showed an app for organizing photos, and a Windows Paint app that you can draw with all your fingers at once. Also, a digital globe app, where the two-handed interface makes good sense. What’s really amazing is a piano app, on which you can now play chords using your fingers on the multitouch screen!
Anyway, do you think Microsoft is copying Apple this time? Whatever it is, I truly hope Windows 7 will be better, not like Windows Vista which looks superb but performs badly. ![]()

can’t say actually if microsoft copys apple or not , but what i’m pretty sure of is that i’m not gonna use windows 7 once it’s out ; i think i’ll just wait and see how it’s gonna do .
i know it looks pretty good but i don’t wanna risk on something new that can’t do me any good [ the same happened to me with stupid vista ]

Last time I heard that Microsoft is on its way to reduce dependency on keyboard and mouse. Looks like they are serious about that. Looking at the video clip, I wonder what type of hardware specs do we really need to actually support that kind of speed and performance. Don’t you think there’s a great gap between high tech products and average consumer products?

I prefer the holographic interface that is fully featured in Iron Man… =)

“do you think Microsoft is copying Apple this time?” man it has been so since the begining of time… do you think that windowed apps was a bright idea of a very bright (!!) porogrammer like Gates? No way it was apple that firstly introduced windowed apps and then came along windows. ms is a great company but the ideas are not original…
