As i know, Maxis wireless bb now have no contract about the minimum usage period already, this includes the person who have signed the contract before they cancel the contract system, so now you can cancel the contract anytime, but you have to pay some money, I think is RM200, go and check guys.

After I read through the comment from you guys and girls, I would like to share my opinion over here. In Malaysia our broadband services " speed "are very depending on the various of location where the base they install and coverage can boost up to how far it is.

Malaysia broadband - will enjoy internet connection all day long but the speed will congest when more user log into same area, using the same base station, in the same time. It happen to wired and wireless broadband.

P2P, VIDEO, ONLINE GAMES it confirm will kill the speed for all the operator.

wired broadband - connected at home or wifi at home/office
wireless broadband - access internet everywhere

everybody know wifi, hotspot, wireless.
so what is wimax ? and new technology challenge wimax is iburst technology.

when come to wireless technology it will very depending on the network operator and provider.

we take mobile operator as a example. everybody understood some places your bar line are very strong, but when you reach certain area your talk might cut off or not clear. We call this blind spot.

our TV satelite program also same problem.

we can accept the intermittent of error, no connection, waiting reconnect back, stop watching drama for a second, and we also have to accept the internet intermittent congested.

many wireless operator have limited your usage for the month. but we do not know. WHY ? because we never read the term and conditions and sign up. and the promoter will never explain very clear because you didnt through the question to them. or they dont even know about it because it too technical.

Myself using streamyx at home, as long as not frequent d/c and sometime slow also acceptable.

Now I am working with IZZI product, izzi is a brand name. and what technology they using is call "iburst" . Japanese technology just like HONDA

myself staying at 12floor at segambut apartment, and BECAUSE we doing sales outside so we have demo set to use it and the speed up to 400-600k. During my driving I also run on youtube to watch movie, it still running smoonthly but come to certain area it will slow down and after we reach to next base station coverage area the speed jump up again.

M operator - confirm above 5th floor are not recommended to use. myself also tested at my places it was no comment added................

C & U - no comment / buy modem / 2year contract /

I just want to share with yours, if you interested I can arrange an appointment to your places test before you subscribe the services.

WHY pay before use ?
other operator - 12,18,24mth contract - still pay everymonth, if terminate still pay balance month and pay modem cost for certain operator practice.

OURS - min 6mth fees + activation fees - include subscription fees and modem belong to you. Reload your monthly subscription fees after 6 month no contract. More flexibility.

" THIS IS ONLY SERVICES WE CAN PROVIDE TO YOU without any charges FREE DEMO before subscribe. "

"We need everybody happy on the surf and satisfy of the service before subscribe, it will reduces consumer complaints and refund cases"

Same goes for me. Currently, I'm using Maxis broadband with the bulky ZTE Modem. I got the UMTS connection. Sometimes, it sucks. When i start downloading, even with the limit speed at download manager setting, i can't use Firefox for browsing... i stay in UTM. Better go with Celcom.

Friend of mine using Celcom BB, seem like he is very happy with the service. But one problem, he got a message from the provider:

Dear customer, you have consistently exceeded the allocation of 5GB/mth. Please reduce your usage or risk having your speed controlled.

But he still can browse the internet. Only p2p (torrent) has stop downloading.

if you are heavy download and normal use p2p such as bittorent, use the DSL (such as Streamyx). Mobile broadband whether Celcom or Maxis, block p2p most of the time.

In general, consumer have to understand that mobile broadband main function is to provide internet connectivity at most places. The speed is added value.

If your priority is speed and stability, wired broadband is still the best option.
Wireless internet based on UMTS/HSDPA technology suffers from limited bandwidth problem. This issue is not only in Malaysia but other developed countries also. But most of developed countries have very large backbones to multi support the bandwidth. Even our neighbour in Singapore, where most homes used 6Mbps, while the offices uses 10-15Mbps in normal (wired DSL technology)

Celcom BB supersucks. I bought the Huawei E220 for $799 I'm paying $98 a month but where i live (in Sandakan) there is no HSDPA coverage. I only found this out when i went home & tested the service. I feel cheated coz why would they sell a service for so expensive when they know there is NO HSDPA coverage??? What the hell???? All i can i get is weak & measly 3G signal. Even when i can get full 3G signal, downloads are bullshittingly slow. Wanna torrent & surf at the same time? Forget it! Your pages will take forever to load. Worse, & i mean worse than dialup. I wonder what the hell is wrong with Malaysian companies. Its like u paid $98 for a delicious meal but instead only got a few grains or rice because your table is too far away for the waiter to deliver. Their so-called careline hasn't come back to me after more than 2 weeks after my complaint. Who cares. I'm canceling.

I am constantly on the move, and changes my "geographical" location very often. That's the main reason why I decided to sign up with Maxis's Wireless Broadband.

When the connection for my Maxis Wireless Broadband drops to GPRS, it's as good as dead.

Even when the device shows GPRS signal, there's no connection at all.
