What are web proxies?
In layman terms, web proxies are proxy servers on the Internet which you can use to surf the Internet privately and securely. They usually hide your IP address and the encrypted connections prevent monitoring of your network traffic. They can also be used to bypass filters which block the website you wish to visit. Using these web proxies, you can surf normally and usually you do not need to install any software because they are web-based.
Now, out of the many free web proxy servers I have used over the years, I have finally came across one which I believe is very reliable and always up and running. It’s none other than HideMyAss! It has such an easy to remember name, isn’t it?

Another useful feature of these proxy servers is that sometimes you may find you cannot access to a website… especially if it’s hosted in another part of the world such as in the US. This is mostly due to DNS resolving problems… which are usually temporary at your ISP… aka Streamyx, Tmnet or Maxis; or the route from your ISP to the website is somehow broken. Now, by using free web proxies, you are almost certain you can access the website in question, unless of course the website in question itself is down.
Free web proxy servers at Hide My Ass, not a bad resource to add to your bookmark, right? Since you are at your bookmark, why not bookmark Kongtechnology.com too… Malaysia’s upcoming problogger blog! Wahahahaha…
I wish to make this blog where you come for a daily dose of technology tips and news. Anyway, you have any good articles to share/submit or not?

Wah…why you always use web proxy to serve internet? I thought we should let the bloggers know we are visiting him so that he can visit us back too. Isn’t this the common way to gain more traffic ?

Eddie Law,
No that I want to hide my ass all the time. Only use web proxy when you have to, for example if you could not access certain website, but you suspect perhaps Streamyx is having problem with the DNS, or your usual route to the site is perhaps having problem.
These web proxies are good if you want to simulate traffic from other parts of the world too. More on this in a later post… come back here for more IT and SEO tips.
