Check out my new webcam which I bought from PC Planet in Tesco, Puchong. I know nothing about web cams and the salesman gave me three options. Frankly, the one from AVF looked awesome in the design department, and it felt good in my hands too. I believe it should fit well on a laptop too with its flippable base. However, the salesman who seemed quite IT savvy recommended the other two models as according to him the AVF model doesn’t plug-and-play on Windows Vista, which I am using. You may have problem finding the correct device driver… this didn’t sound good.

So, AVF was out. The other two models were easy to decide as one of them looked horrible with 6 LED lights. Although they serve good purpose - to light up when the place is dark, but I don’t really like how it looked. So, it was obvious which one I have chosen.
It’s i-View IP400 from MobileGear. The design is sleek and futuristic. It costed me RM60. Negotiation to ask for discount didn’t work here.
Let’s take a quick look at its specifications:

This baby really installs itself as soon as you plugs it in a Windows Vista powered machine. There is no need to install additional drivers or software as it’s designed for Windows Vista!
Another feature I like is the universal clip at its base, which makes it fit easily on any laptop, LCD or CRT.

Look how it sat nicely on my Compaq laptop while I was video conferencing with my girlfriend. My girlfriend is obviously thrilled with this… now she can see my face live while she talks with me! Hahaha…
Chatting with your girlfriend like this is truly lots of fun! You can do more than video chatting if the mood is right… *wink wink*…

Receently I bought the same webcam. I wanted to hook it to my laptop Acer 5044NWLCI using windows XP. The problem is I keep getting a shadowy movement of colors from it. No matter how
I adjusted it, still It doesn’t work. Maybe you can help me with this problem.

semaun,
That is weird. I don’t have any problem at all. The webcam configures itself the moment I plugged it in on my Windows Vista, I don’t even need to put in the drivers CD. It’s plug and play. So easy to install and use.
Maybe you try reinstall the device driver and see.

This review is useful to me bcoz I am going to buy a webcam.
Your GF is beautiful, certainly, how lucky are you!
Your snapshot showed the image quality of your GF’s webcam but not yours, could u take a snapshot of your own webcam’s quality? Her webcam’s image seems a little yellowish.
The price I can get in Penang is RM69. Don’t know where to get cheaper one.
