I have just bought myself a brand new Compaq Presario laptop which costed about RM3500. Not extremely expensive, but should be expensive if we were to compare with a similar Dell unit. No many branded computers can beat Dell in terms of pricing I guess.

The laptop is completely black in color. The glossy black finishing makes it look very classy and elegant.
Now, let’s check out the specs and see if you like it or not.

That’s the digital media reader, which is located at the left side of the laptop. In fact all the slots which include 3 USBs, digital media reader slot, expansion port, ear phone jack and etc are all located at the left or right of the laptop for easier access.

The Altec Lansing stereo speakers are good for loud music lovers. Great also if you like watching DVD movies on the widescreen LDC screen.
I nearly forgot to tell you that this unit comes preloaded with FreeDOS. Who use DOS nowadays?… so, I choose to load it with Windows Vista Business (costs about RM500). Don’t confuse the price here, the price above includes the Windows Vista Business cost. However, if you are a command prompt geek, you can grab this laptop at less than RM3k.

I bought the same laptop with FreeDos inside, saved money by installing my own OS (WinXp) inside. Definetly agree with the laptop being stylish and affordable. It’s also a good performer. The scratch proof exterior and interior are plus factors.

I got the same one too! love it.. I got it with Vista Ultimate
Excellent. However, I’m having a little problem, every time my screen goes off (shut down, hibernate, sleep) it makes this ‘pop’ sound. I dunno, is it the speakers? I’m going to get it checked this weekend. It’s only a week old

me,
My laptop has no such sound… Is it very loud? If the sound is very soft, could it be the hard disk parking sound? (Sounds silly, but possible).
