I was looking for a simple but powerful communication and collaboration tools for my organization at a very low and affordable cost. Tried a few searches on the Internet and I bounced into Google Apps for Your Domain. Immediately I was attracted as the standard edition is absolutely free! This is even better than what I am expecting.
Google Apps offers some of the most interesting services from Google into one package, these includes Gmail, Google Talk, Google Calendar, Docs & Spreadsheets, Page Creator and Start Page. There will be a single sign-on control panel to manage the services and users.
I don’t think I will be able to test out most of the services soon, but the 2GB free gmail account on your own domain name seems to be pretty exciting. I just wonder if anyone has successfully configured the gmail mail server to work on their own domain before.
So, if anyone has any feedback regarding this 2GB free email on your own domain name, that would be great. I would love to hear what you thought or think about this service. Does it really work?

Still remember the old good days where you can use Gmail invitations to ask pretty chicks out for a date.

Kitkat are you still using Google Apps? I’d be interested in your long-term experience. I’ve been tempted on and off, and just never took the plunge. We’re possibly moving email servers soon and so this is an option.

I’m currently using Google Apps for my business and think it works very well.
For a small business set up like mine. (About 10 people, including all my outsource workers in Philippines) The free version allows you to add up to 50 users per domain, plus access to Google document, Chat, and Messaging makes it an all-in-one system.
The only setback now is that Google Chat does not support Conference call function, which is vastly important for my business.
Apart from that, the services are free. I don’t think anyone can complain.
